About The Owner
My name is Aarie Wade, and I am a Grand Rapids native, a mother, Non-Profit Executive, and Entrepreneur. Back in 2019, I acquired this lakeside property which included two small cabins. Determined to transform them into a luxurious glamping retreat, I invested all my resources into renovating the cabins. Without any loans or external investors, after five years of hard work, I am almost ready to unveil The Black Eden Tiny Cabin experience!

About the Cabins!
These charming 400-square-foot tiny cabins are nestled in Downtown Idlewild, offering lake view access and just moments away from the renowned Red Rooster, now known as Peyton’s Bar and Grill, as well as Idlewild Beach. This prime location is ideal for newcomers to the area, those seeking a rustic experience, or anyone who enjoys being in a lively environment. The cabins, though not secluded, provide ample privacy while being easily visible from the street, with plenty of parking and camping space available. Situated next to the Black Chamber of Commerce, with a restaurant across the street offering food and drinks, and within walking distance to the beach and Meeks Park, you'll find yourself at the heart of all the action.

Our Journey
2019
Summer Clean Up! Our excitement kicked in as we initiated the process by clearing out the cabins and evaluating their needs. It turned out that the roofs required replacement, and there were issues with water, sewage, and electricity, which demanded our immediate attention. At that moment, I realized that this project would span over several years and the costs were beginning to escalate.
2020-2023
We started construction during the COVID summer and spent the next two years steadily working towards our objectives. We managed to replace the roof, set up a well, electrical connections, and linked both cabins to the Yates Township Sewage System. It was a challenging task, but we successfully completed it.
2024 - It’s Time!
After two summers of offering rustic rental spaces in my cabins for Glamping, we have now reached my favorite stage – cosmetics!
